Farmers Market

Rossland Mountain Market

The Rossland Mountain Market is located in the heart of Rossland and runs from July 1st - Mid October. Vendors sell a variety of goods including: fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, preserves, textile crafts, jewellery, and art. The Rossland Mountain Market is also a member of the BC Association of Farmers' Markets (http://www.bcfarmersmarket.org).

We recently received money from the CBT Community Initiatives Program for the insurance for the market. Nelson and District Credit Union provided funding for sandwich boards and a banner. We appreciate their generous support!

Market Time and Location 2011:
For the 2011 season, the market will operate on Thursdays from 3pm-6:30pm, in downtown Rossland (Queen Street and Columbia Avenue).

You can now follow Rossland Mountain Market on Facebook!

Vendor Information
  • Vendor fees: please click here for a break down of 2011 vendor fees.
  • Vendor fees help pay for the market insurance, marketing, business licence, music and coordination.
  • Vendors must provide their own tables and shade making devices.
  • Vendor applications can be filled out on your first day at the market.
  • Vendors must arrive between 2pm-2:30pm for set up as the Market starts at 3pm sharp.
  • This is a unserviced market location so there is no power or water. Special arrangements can sometimes be made with local businesses but this relationship is up to the vendor.
  • This year weekly vendors will have their own permanent spot at the Market. There will be a place for vendors that occasionally come.
  • Vendors must confirm their product with the market coordinator prior to selling at the market.

Interested Vendors for 2011 Market season:
If you are interested in being a vendor at the Rossland Mountain Market this year,
please contact rosslandmountainmarket@yahoo.ca  or call Rachael at 362-5452.
The rules are simple: MAKE IT, BAKE IT, GROW IT
The Rossland Mountain Market committee has a mandate to provide a market that is high quality, fun, local, and family friendly. If a product is questionable, the market committee will fairly discuss if a vendors product is suitable to sell at the farmers market.

Public Information Session for Food Vendors
Wednesday, June 15, 5-6pm, Rossland Library, no registration, free
Learn about the basics of selling prepared food with Rossland REAL Food and the local health authority. This is an easy to understand information session that will introduce people to all they need to know in order to comply with the health regulations.

Vendors must comply with health regulations. Please download the  below attachment or click here for more information. The 2011 regulations have been updated to make it EASIER for low risk food groups to be sold at the market.
